Models and Fashion

Hey dudes!

So another week just started woot woot! I'm just thinking about easter to be quite honest, chocolate, yes lots and lots of chocolate.
I should really be cutting back on it but how?! I just can't help myself, especially when my dad just gave me a pound of chocolate over the weekend.

And no I didn't eat the whole thing already but... It's practically almost finished so.
So yeah, while I was sick, (I'm feeling a lot better, actually I can drive now which is GREAT) I was dead bored and watched a ton of shows and movies thanks to Netflix and my dear old mac!
And one of those many movies I have watched was a documentary about the life of models. And that documentary gave me the shivers!

People don't realize that modelling is incredibly hard. Most people just think ''Oh they're too skinny and they get paid too much for what they do etc etc.'' But honestly.... Go watch that documentary and come back to that thought.
Girls from all over the world from foreign countries get enrolled into modelling to make money and make a living, and most of those girls are from poor countries, or poor families who just want to find a way to support themselves. They get into it a a very young age(by far 14 is way too young, you're still a child and you need to live a child's life and be happy and care free.... Not work) That's why they look so skinny, because they don't have their curves yet. They travel, and non stop have shoots and shows to do, and hardly get breaks. It's a really hard job, you don't realize how hard it can be. Most designers or photographers won't even see them as true people. They see them as accessories and use, use and use them.

Thankfully this is changing slowly with time, many designers now are starting to realize the true meaning of models and how they should be treated. Which is a good thing, though this documentary made me realize how unfair the real fashion world can become.
The fashion world is a vicious circle, where being behind the camera is actually more glamorous and better than being on front.
This documentary made me realize also how when I become a fashion photographer that I will treat my models like gold, because after all they are the fruit to the whole package.

Fashion is probably the hardest thing to get into, to make of a career! You pick a path but any path could lead to failure.
To be able to have a good life in the fashion industry and to be successful, you must believe in yourself and keep pushing yourself to the limit. You must create a name, and do all your mistakes at the beginning before getting contracts because after a couple of contract mistakes you're out.

To me fashion is thrilling, it gives me butterflies in my stomach because of how intense and hard it is. Being subscribed to Vogue is probably the best thing I've ever done because it cultivates my fashion senses and helps me get inspired with photography concepts.

One of the hardest things I find is to keep track of everything. Twitter, magazines, Facebook, Websites, Tumblr, Pinterest AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON! Sometimes I don't get the time to check my twitter and once I do it takes me an hour to read everything and then there's more and then I totally feel behind.

So when that happens I just eat chocolate in bed and sleep.

LAZY. Haha no but seriously!

Anyways I feel as if I'm babbling a little too much about fashion on this blog, I'm sorry I'm in the middle of finalizing my first photo fashion project which I'm presenting tomorrow and since a week ago I've been filling my head with fashion to be able to have lots to say for tomorrow!
But here is the shoot of my 50s shoot which is my last shoot for my project hope you enjoy it :)
